#4 for the first part because he looks like he is tough on the outside but also has a sensitive side. Masculinity and sensitvity....I must know this mans name!
#3 for the second part because apart from the #4, I think the rest of them all look..well...Im not impressed.

so.....
#4 for best male ideal
and
#3 for best male model?
and you need to clarify that last stuff
it makes no sense

They look kinda low on self esteem.
Especially Edward Sciccorhands. (6)

i knew the words 'self esteem' would come up in this thread.
**rolls eyes**
but for some reason i thought i would still
post it.
thanks for reaffirming the stereotype, TG.

#6 for masculinity
#6 for best male model, although I dont think that's fair, because, anyone can be told what to wear, how to wear it, and how to stand.

i agree with your last comment, hanny.
i think that direction and the art of photography
play a large part in 'modeling'...
i prefer black and white -- which is what i
usually judge a person's photography skill with.
however...
if you've noticed, i also tried picking
photos that attempted to show a lack of emotion.
perhaps i am biased, but i prefer 'modeling'
to represent more of a 'mannequinn-esque' style
(perhaps why i love versace ads).
despite this, i now realize that all of my
pic choices fail to show body...
that is, i seemed to have inadvertantly picked
photos of clothed (at least in the upper portion)
persons...and all of the pics seem to show
thinner (less muscle definition) males.
naturally, most of the males on the top 50
aren't bulky in as far as muscles and braun.
also, i've noted how most of the males on the
top 50 are more androgenous (which is fine by
me since i prefer a more androgenous look).
perhaps after this poll, i'll select another
various 4-6 pics of a different male nature
and see what happens.
i'm am still curious why you have chosen #6
as showing best masculinity... unless it was
merely to trump TG .

At first I was going to select something to trump TG... but then I went back over them more seriously.. and I chose #6 because... well, he's different, but he does different in a unique, yet not to formidable way. Looks like he's comfy the way he is.

I'll pick number 2 for both...he's not anywhere near my ideal, and I don't fancy him, but he's the best of the bunch!
All the rest are just too....chiselled and surreal...also rather feminine, in a strange, androgenous sort of way!
(Give me Darius any day )
